Engagement
Engagement in Kairos measures how actively members are participating in church life — not just whether they show up to services.
What counts as engagement
Kairos considers a member engaged if they are active across multiple dimensions:
| Activity | Contribution |
|---|---|
| Service attendance | Present, Virtual, or Late in the last 30 days |
| Fellowship participation | Attended a fellowship meeting recently |
| Department activity | Active member of at least one department |
| Follow-up contact | Has been contacted by their leader within the window |
A member who attends service but has no fellowship, no department, and no recent follow-up may still register as low engagement — they are connected to the church but not embedded in community.
Engagement score on the Dashboard
The Member Engagement card in Mission Control shows the current engagement level — High, Medium, or Low — for your branch.
Beneath the score label you'll see:
- Count of active members (engaged across dimensions)
- Count of inactive members (attended ≤ 38% of services or below threshold)
This is what the 62% active figure means in the dashboard — not just service attendance but overall member involvement.
Tracking individual engagement
Leaders and Pastors can see individual engagement signals through:
- My Attendance — per-member attendance rate and streak
- Follow-up notes — when each member was last contacted and the outcome
- Department roster — whether the member is active or stale in the department
- New Believers pipeline — whether a new believer is progressing or stalling
Improving engagement
Common actions that improve engagement scores:
- Log follow-up notes for members who haven't been contacted recently
- Assign stale souls to workers and log contact attempts
- Advance stalled New Believers enrolments
- Ensure fellowship attendance is recorded so participation is visible
